Parent & Committee Meeting

This is a reminder that we will be holding our quarterly Parent & Committee Meeting on Tuesday, 12/4/18 at 7pm. The meeting will be in the conference room at the north side of the CCC campus. We will be discussing summer camp, recharter, and other troop business.

T648 Camping Gear Sale

Greetings!

This is a reminder that Mr. Butler is having an ‘invitation only’ camping gear sale for all members of Troop 648 this weekend, Saturday, Sept 29, 2018 from 8am-1pm, while things last!

This will include years of camping, backpacking, camp cooking and a few other things that might be considered Scout like.  For example: Tents, sleeping bags, Coleman stoves, high BTU cookstove, external frame backpacks (3 of them), hiking sticks, cast iron skillets, Dutch ovens, backpacking stoves, propane Fat Fryer, propane crock pot, small propane grill, port-a-potties and more. Possibly some SCUBA gear.

Open to Troop 648 Scout Families at bargain prices.

Aidan Brown’s Eagle Project:

Thank you everyone for all your help on my Eagle Project! It was a great turnout and everyone worked really hard. I was really proud of our troop. It meant a lot to me having you all there supporting me during my project. Our beneficiary was really happy with how it all turned out.

Where: Club SAR, 8055 E. Camelback Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 (480) 312-2669 which is located South of Camelback Road and East of Hayden Road.  Club SAR is behind the baseball fields.

When: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2018 7:30-12:30pm — COMING UP VERY SOON!!

Project Description:

Who:

For the benefit of the citizens of the City of Scottsdale who use

Club SAR Fitness Center (https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/sports/club-sar-fitness-center)

A city-operated fitness facility that is available at a discounted rate as a service to the community.

What: They need help with a landscape project at their entryway for safety and to make things look better. The area is primarily granite with a few plants and a bicycle rack. The biggest part of the job is setting pavers in an area surrounding a bicycle rack and fixing/painting the rack. A small amount of drip lines may need to be replaced or moved and some small plants/landscaping also may be added.

What to bring:  PLEASE bring work gloves and a small and large shovel, broom, wheel barrow, any tools you can bring will be appreciated.

*******DONUTS AND DRINKS will be offered to the helpers that attend!!******

Parent/Committee Meeting

Greetings!

I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! This is a quick reminder that we will be holding our Quarterly Committee & Parent Meeting this Tuesday, 9/4, at 7pm at the CCC Conference Room. (This is the same time as the regular troop meeting.)

We have had a busy scouting summer, and have an exciting new calendar to share with everyone at the meeting for what we expect will be a great year ahead. All parents and committee members are welcome to attend.

Parent Program Meeting & Committee Meeting

Greetings!

Our senior scouts will spend this weekend at the annual PLC Retreat planning this year’s troop calendar. On Sunday morning (August 19) from 8:30am – 9:30am, we will have our Parents Program and Troop Activity Meeting. All parents and leaders are welcome to attend this meeting where we will get the first view of this year’s calendar. Anyone wishing to join can come down to the Scottsdale Plaza Resort at 7200 N Scottsdale Road. We will be meeting in Room 8008.

While I am on the topic of parent meetings, I will also remind everyone that we will have our next quarterly Committee and Parent Meeting in just a few weeks on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the CCC Conference Room. (7pm) All parents and members of the committee are invited to attend.

AZ Scouting Museum – Service Opportunity

Greetings!

We have a service opportunity this week to help the Arizona Scouting Museum. The project will involve loading items that are part of a large donation to the museum into a truck. The project is in Mesa and will start on Friday, 6/22/18 at 8am.

If you are able to assist but need help with transportation, Mr. Butler will setup a carpool from CCC. Anyone who attends will get service hours. Please bring water.

Troop Parent/Committee Meeting

Greetings!

This is a reminder that we will hold our Troop 648 Parent & Committee Meeting this Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 7:00pm in the CCC Conference Room.

We have a busy agenda to cover, including: Pancake Breakfast Recap, Scoutmaster Transition, Upcoming changes to Council Dues, and Summer Camp information & logistics. We will have plenty to discuss, so I hope everyone can make it.

Offsite Troop Meeting – AZ on the Rocks

Event: AZ on the Rocks – Off-site Meeting

Greetings Troop 648,

The Troop meeting for Tuesday, May 29th is an off-site meeting at AZ on the Rocks. This will be a great opportunity to learn and experience rock climbing in a safe and temperature controlled environment. We will have two dedicated staff members from AZ on the Rocks instructing and guiding the Scouts for this event. The cost for this event is $20 per Scout (payments made to AZ on the Rocks).

****All participants will need a digital waiver, and for those under the age of 18 this must be completed by their own parent – no exceptions. Everyone needs a digital waiver on file, even if they have been in and completed a paper waiver in the past. The waiver can be filled out directly online at www.azontherocks.com and we ask that these are completed prior to arrival.

SCOUTS SHOULD BE THERE at 5:15 for 5:30 start time and ending at 7pm
